Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over at The Broke and Bookish, and this weeks Top Ten is: Top Ten Books I almost put down but didn't
Some of these are books that I picked up and put back down at the book store several times before finally committing to reading them, some of them are books that I thought about not finishing at one point or another while reading.
Dragon Tattoo totally made my list this week. That beginning part was SO boring. Perks is one I thought about quitting too. Charlie was a hard kid for me to "get". Twilight is one I wished I would have put down. I barely made it through that first one and thankfully never tried the other ones. And Cinder I loved!!

PS- Your blog is adorable, cute name!!
Thanks! Charlie was a tough character, I only stuck it out because ALL of my students were reading it, same for the Twilight series.
DeleteI loved Cinder too - it's one of the ones that I was unsure of and literally waited until April of this year to finally read it.
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice picks! I've seen Perks on a few lists, it seems like quite a lot of people struggled with Charlie as a character. I'm really hoping to start Cinder soon, have heard a lot of amazing things about that one. I've read and really enjoyed TFIOS, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (although that one was slow going at times), Uglies, I adore The Hunger Games and enjoyed Matched as well. Great list :)
ReplyDeleteThanks,
DeleteCinder is Amazing! start it ASAP lol
Uglies made my list. For some reason I had a really hard time getting into the book. I've read several of the books on your list and loved most of them. The Hunger Games and Cinder are two of my favorite series! And I enjoyed Matched as well. Great list.
ReplyDeleteI loved a few of these too, but for some reason picked them up and put them back down several times before committing
DeleteYou've got some popular ones on your list. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo took me about 150 pages to get into.

I'm sometimes hesitant to start popular books because I worry that the hype will let me down
DeleteOooo I put down Dragon Tattoo because I couldn't go through all the foreign names. AND YOU ALMOST PUT DOWN THE FAULT IN OUR STARS? Good thing you didn't.
ReplyDeleteIt's one of the ones I picked up at the book store and put down several times lol once I got reading it I never wanted to put it down
